Could be Worse

As I walked through the crowded halls of my new school, I couldn't help but feel out of place. Everyone seemed to have their own little groups, their own little worlds within the larger one that was high school. It was overwhelming, to say the least. But I was determined to make the best of it.

As I made my way to my first class, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. I ended up in the building late (of course) so the halls were mostly empty, which would explain my unease, but it still felt strange. As if right on cue, a tall, blonde girl stepped out from the bathroom ahead of me. There wasn't anything particularly special about her, but I'll admit, I was enthralled. She glanced towards me, smiling softly, before sauntering off down the hall and entering a classroom.
